Tis the season for mind eating monsters....
Merry Chri...I mean Halloween!
Granted, I'm not as early as the major retail stores, but this is the season for monsters and creatures that go bump in the night. Which means my ever present Zombie is on the war path, devouring minds left and right. Ok, so he isn't a mind eating monster, but his tongue-in-cheek outlook on his life after death will have you questioning what is culture and history around the world.
This of course leads me to the second announcement, that The Zombie's Diary is now a two part series. Just one massive ebook wasn't enough to tell this entire chaotic tale of the Zombie and his friends, so it was split into two complete ebooks. The Diary's Zombie, unlike many other part two's, will be released almost simultaneously, meaning that you, the reader will have access to the entire tale from the beginning to the end, with one single question: CENSORED!!!!
Well darn those internet censors again....spoiling all of my fun! I guess you will have to buy the book to find out! May your minds be tasty this monster season!

The Zombie's Diary: Anti-chapters
While working on The Zombie's Diary, I was working with a wide variety of ideas, including the fact that you are literally in the mind of the main character throughout the novel. This has lead to many enjoyable insights, but while playing with it I began to ponder the meanings which we give the idea of chapters themselves. What was going on in the background of the story was as equally important for the main character experiencing what he was experiencing. We this and more than a fair dose of post-modern thought helped me dive into an area which should have been obvious. With my main plot device based around the Zombie, why couldn't I do another plot device about those which he interacts with in life and how actions or lack of actions culminate into a cohesive story?

Welcome the Creeping Chill of Fall
Well it is that time of year when sweaters get dragged out and there is a chill in the air that tells you that Autumn is quickly approaching. When staying inside becomes the norm as you shiver outside.
Needless to say, I am NOT a fan yet, but I will get there. Too many hours spent outside this summer has made me tolerant of extreme heat, I just have to reach the point where I don't mind the cold again. Life is about change and adaptation, and yet again I will change. That is the driving force of the future.
In other news, I have been busy elsewhere, but soon I will post another chapter of The Zombie's Diary, the chaos is coming to a head as the hero realizes that not all is what he thinks. Then again, isn't that life?
Also notice the new links that will be popping up, this is from my work with Direct Media. The life of a random freelance author at its finest.
Until next time, hasta luego!

And the year just keeps on going!
Greetings all.
Well as you can imagine it has been a busy time personally for this writer. So much going on in my life, both good and ill. Granted, it is all about change being a driving force in life and I'm enjoying myself the entire time. With that said I've been working for a new internet company producing the occasional articles freelance while my busy work season has heated up for working my other jobs.

May Showers!
Things are on a roll in the realm of literary publication, falling as fast as the flooding storms in Indiana. But horrible puns aside, I have been busy. My input on the Legends of the Shining Jewel Psionics update is done. I've said my peace, and I think my peace has helped that publication along. I've also written my first adventure for that living campaign setting, LSJ 107 Through the Looking Glass. Expect links to both of those when they become available to the public. (If your a fan of roleplaying games, look into Legends of the Shining Jewel, a great living campaign.)

Brave New World
Well I have gone and done it, I now have a facebook page for my author bio as well, although until that gets off the ground I won't figure out how to link this and that together. Work on The Zombie Diary is coming along at a fast pace, hopefully in another month or two it will be in a form ready for publication. Until then, The first few pages will be added to the facebook site as a note. Enjoy!
(Warning, The Zombie Diary is intended for mature, adult audiences. I use naughty language and dangerous ideas which might get you to think. That's my only warning.)

Geass Roleplaying System
Normally I would announce this on my role playing blog, but I have added the completion of this game to higher on my priorities list. This is a system which is based upon counter-rolls of d6 to determine success or failure of your actions. Play testing should begin soon.
Guide to Cold Weather Hiking Check List
I know from experience that a checklist of gear is always useful, but often they are shoved inconveniently in chapters in formats which are less than useful. This copy is free for private reproduction. This material can be used in other sites by permission from the author.

Finishing up the last touches on my cold weather hiking guide.
Oh, the time I always enjoy. When you hold a manuscript in your hands and just smell how close you are done with it. Well that is the case right now with the cold weather hiking guide. I have a few choices of names yet, which is always one of the last things I do, but as early as wens evening this book will be on sale on the kindle and nook systems. Until then!

Well the best laid plans sometimes never happen.
Good evening all!
Well no matter what I plan, sometimes the fate or destiny or even karma interferes. All you can do is to work around those stresses when they occur and to move on with your life. Since the new year has begun, I have become part of a cooperative effort for several projects, ranging from role-playing to scholarship, teaching for a friend, and juggling several handfuls of time sensitive jobs in the last few weeks.
This of course being a broad overview of my life excluding all the smaller bits of insanity which I have gone through along the way. The hiking book is on the way, and with some exciting photographic material which I can now add to the process. Until next time!

Falling Star
Sometimes you stare at the ceiling of life, unsure of what you are doing or where you are going. nothing can stop the feeling that your falling but there is nothing that can stop you, a flaming star crashing down upon the jagged landscape burning up in a smoldering crater of hopelessness and stress. When falling, most people panic, unsure of the ride and the sudden stop at the bottom, the duel rhythm of the beating heart of life and death pounding in their ears like a cacophony of drums. Crashing downwards, they resist and struggle, trying to find any method in which they can stop the inevitable downward spiral. They bounce and skip through the nighttime sky, breaking apart as they strike against the air until nothing is left but a trickle of dust at the very end. Life is very much about death, they are intertwined and twisted together since inception, the meaning of life tied to mortality, it is the natural state of things.

Frustration
Writing is an art form as much as putting a paintbrush onto canvas. In this 'digital' age the writers paintbrush has taken a new form and your vision suddenly falls to the whim of a painter who has no right to change your words. So when I had a friend point out tonight that my book had errors in it I was stunned. Going through my hard copy and what was saved in the file, I realized that the program which I was running on my PC had 'auto-corrected' the book without my permission. My hard work marred by a programmer far away who thought that he or she knew more than I did about what I had written down.
So needless to say that although I might have been awake for close to twenty hours at this point, I have corrected the mistakes which this program made to my words. I am glad that I had caught this before I had submitted several very important documents for my applications into graduate school. I truly have entered a writer's worst nightmare, but I have caught it in time.

Teaching an old dog new tricks
Well when I first went to the university I wasn't allowed to take an HTML class because they said that liberal arts majors didn't need it. Advance more than a decade and I would like to slap the 'know-it-alls' who decided this.

Happy New Year!
Well I would like to wish everyone a happy if not belated New Year! Welcome to 2011!
The Cold Weather Hiking Guide is coming along nicely, it has doubled in size since I began which has surprised me, but so far my testers have been very pleased with what I've suggested. In the very least they haven't frozen to death yet, which is excellent. Look to see that in ebook format soon!
