Sometimes you stare at the ceiling of life, unsure of what you are doing or where you are going. nothing can stop the feeling that your falling but there is nothing that can stop you, a flaming star crashing down upon the jagged landscape burning up in a smoldering crater of hopelessness and stress. When falling, most people panic, unsure of the ride and the sudden stop at the bottom, the duel rhythm of the beating heart of life and death pounding in their ears like a cacophony of drums. Crashing downwards, they resist and struggle, trying to find any method in which they can stop the inevitable downward spiral. They bounce and skip through the nighttime sky, breaking apart as they strike against the air until nothing is left but a trickle of dust at the very end. Life is very much about death, they are intertwined and twisted together since inception, the meaning of life tied to mortality, it is the natural state of things.
Then there are those stars which burn brightly flaring down into the planet below, glowing with such magnificence where all look up in shock and awe at the raw power. Burning and falling, accepting their own mortality as something not to fear, but to embrace it and to take life and live to its fullest. Not suicidal nor self destructive, but accepting that no matter how hard they might fight against the world that it will end. But it is what they do with their existence that matters, in how they flare and burn brightly for all those around them to watch in awe. To step beyond avoiding fate but to take control of it and ride it into glory.
Mortality is the metal of a coin, one face life and the other death, spinning out of control in a single flip waiting to hit the dirt below. We should not run from death, from the final purpose of our life, but embrace that one day we will be streaking through the nights sky in our final downward plummet. Will be try to prolong our life, crumbling bit by bit into dust, or burn in a blaze proud that we lived and will leave a mark upon this planet for others?
